Third Sunday after Resurrection - Holy Myrrhbearers Sunday
 Трећа недеља по Васкрсењу Господњем – Недеља мироно 

НЕДЕЉА МИРОНОСИЦА (грч: Κυριακή των Μυροφόρων), трећа недеља после Пасхе-Васкрса, посвећена је женама мироносицама, првим сведоцима Христовог Васкрсења, а такође и Јосифу Ариматејском, једном од тајних Христових ученика као и Никодиму, који је тајно долазио Христу и слушао његову науку. Обојица су извршила погреб Христов. Поред Марије из Магдале, остале мироносице које су у први дан недеље дошле на гроб да помажу Христа, биле су: Саломија, кћи Јосифа Обручника, а супруга Зеведејева, мајка Апостола Јована Богослова и Јакова и Марија, мати Јакова Малога и Јосије (Мк 15,40). Апостол Лука спомиње још и Јовану (Лк 24,10). У Синаксару Недеље мироносица помињу се још Марта и Марија, сестре Лазареве, Марија Клеопова и Сосана. Празник је установљен у IX веку, а песме за празник писали су Анатолије, игуман студијског манастира (IX век) или солунски Епископ (IX или X век), Косма монах (око 743) и Теофан (после 843). У служби ове недеље певају из посљедованија Великог петка и песме посвећене мироносицама и тајним ученицима Христовим. Те недеље, као и три наредне, на вечерњу се после стихире на стиховње певају стихире Пасхе: "Пасха свјашченаја", а најутрењу читав Пасхални канон са додатком нарочитих богородичних (који се и током Светле седмице певају после тропара Пасхалног канона свакодневно, осим првог дана). Тамо где је храм посвећен женама мироносицама, додаје се још и величаније. Особеност суботње службе ове седмице је то што се на њој врши оданије празника, па се зато на "Господи воззвах" певају исте стихире као и на сам празник.

THE READING FROM THE ACTS OF THE SAINTLY APOSTLES (6: 1-7)

In those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying, there arose a complaint against the Hebrews by the Hellenists, because their widows were neglected in the daily distribution. Then the twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said, “It is not desirable that we should leave the word of God and serve tables. Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business; but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” And the saying pleased the whole multitude. And they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit, and Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas, a proselyte from Antioch, whom they set before the apostles; and when they had prayed, they laid hands on them. Then the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were obedient to the faith.

THE GOSPEL READING FROM SAINT MARK (15: 43 – 16: 8)

At that time, Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent council member, who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, coming and taking courage, went into Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Pilate marvelled that He was already dead; and summoning the centurion, he asked him if He had been dead for some time. So when he found out from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph. Then he bought fine linen, took Him down, and wrapped Him in the linen. And he laid Him in a tomb which had been hewn out of the rock, and rolled a stone against the door of the tomb. And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses observed where He was laid. Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him. Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen. And they said among themselves, “Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?” But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away - for it was very large. And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed. But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is Risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him. But go, tell His disciples - and Peter - that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you.” So they went out quickly and fled from the tomb, for they trembled and were amazed. And they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.

REFLECTION Nothing can be kept secret from our Omniscient God. At every moment, to Him is known all that is being done in the world; both in the external as well as in the internal, spiritual world. Not one intention, not one desire, not one thought of his can man conceal from God. How can you hide from God that which you cannot hide from men; from holy men! One day, Tsar Ivan the Terrible came to church to pray to God. In the church, Blessed Basil, "the fool for Christ," stood for prayer. It is true the Tsar was in church physically, but his thoughts were on the Hill of the Sparrow, a short distance from Moscow, upon which he had begun to construct a palace. Throughout the liturgical services, the Tsar thought about how he could extend and complete his palace on that hill. After the services, the Tsar noticed Basil and asked him: "Where have you been?" Basil replied: "In church." Basil then immediately asked the Tsar: "O Tsar and where were you?" "I, also, was in church, " answered the Tsar. To that, the discerning saint replied: "You are not speaking the truth Ivanushka for I perceived how, in your thoughts, you were pacing about on the Hill of the Sparrow and building a palace."

А у ове дане, кад се умножише ученици, подигоше Грци вику на Јевреје што се њихове удовице заборављаху кад се делише храна сваки дан. Онда дванаесторица дозвавши мноштво ученика, рекоше: Није прилично нама да оставимо реч Божју па да служимо око трпеза. Нађите дакле, браћо, међу собом седам поштених људи, пуних Духа Светог и премудрости, које ћемо поставити над овим послом. А ми ћемо у молитви и у служби речи остати. И ова реч би угодна свему народу. И изабраше Стефана, човека напуњена вере и Духа Светог, и Филипа, и Прохора, и Никанора, и Тимона, и Пармена, и Николу покрштењака из Антиохије. Ове поставише пред апостоле и они помоливши се Богу метнуше руке на њих. И реч Божја растијаше, и множаше се врло број ученика у Јерусалиму. И свештеници многи покораваху се вери.

Читање Светог Јеванђеља по Марку (15, 43-16, 8)

У време оно, дође Јосиф из Ариматеје, поштен саветник, који и сам царство Божје чекаше, и усуди се те уђе к Пилату и заиска тело Исусово. А Пилат се зачуди да је већ умро; и дозвавши капетана запита га: Је ли давно умро? И дознавши од капетана, даде тело Јосифу. И купивши платно, и скинувши Га, обави платном, и метну Га у гроб који беше исечен у камену, и навали камен на врата од гроба. А Марија Магдалина и Марија Јосијина гледаху где Га метаху. И пошто прође субота, Марија Магдалина и Марија Јаковљева и Соломија купише мириса да дођу и да помажу Исуса. И врло рано у први дан недеље дођоше на гроб око сунчаног рођаја. И говораху међу собом: Ко ће нам одвалити камен од врата гробних? И погледавши видеше да камен беше одваљен: јер беше врло велики. И ушавши у гроб видеше младића обученог у белу хаљину где седи с десне стране; и уплашише се. А он им рече: Не плашите се, Исуса тражите Назарећанина распетог; уста, није овде, ево место где Га метнуше. Него идите кажите ученицима Његовим и Петру да пред вама оде у Галилеју: тамо ћете Га видети, као што вам рече. И изашавши побегоше од гроба; јер их ухвати дрхат и страх; и ником ништа не казаше, јер се бојаху.

РАСУЂИВАЊЕ Тајна нашег спасења закључује се у појави Бога међу људима у телу људском. Св. Мелитон Сардијски пише: „Дела Христова после крштења показала су и доказала свету, да је у телу Његовом скривано Божанство. Будући Богом Он је био и савршеним човеком. Он нам је јавио два Своја јестества: Божанство чудесима, учињеним кроз три године после крштења, и Човечанство кроз оних 30 година, када је немоћ телесна скривала знаке Његовог Божанства, мада је Он био истински предвечним Богом." — Начин сједињења Божанства с Човечанством тешко је појмљив, но догађај појаве Бога као човека међу људима савршено је појмљив из појма о љубави Божјој према људима. Ни свет као догађај није више појмљив — може се рећи да је чак и мање појмљив — него догађај над догађајима: ваплоћење Бога.

Holy Myrrhbearers

Sunday the beginning of His thirty-second year, when the Lord Jesus was going throughout Galilee, preaching and working miracles, many women who had received of His beneficence left their own homeland and from then on followed after Him. They ministered unto Him out of their own possessions, even until His crucifixion and entombment; and afterwards, neither losing faith in Him after His death, nor fearing the wrath of the Jewish rulers, they came to the sepulchre, bearing the myrrh-oils they had prepared to anoint His body. It is because of the myrrh-oils, that these God-loving women brought to the tomb of Jesus that they are called the Myrrh-bearers. Of those whose names are known are the following: first of all, the most holy Virgin Mary, who in Matthew 27:56 and Mark 15:40 is called "the mother of James and Joses" (these are the sons of Joseph by a previous marriage, and she was, therefore, their step-mother); Mary Magdalene (celebrated July 22); Mary, the wife of Clopas; Joanna, wife of Chouza, a steward of Herod Antipas; Salome, the mother of the sons of Zebedee, Mary and Martha, the sisters of Lazarus; and Susanna. As for the names of the rest of them, the evangelists have kept silence

The noble Joseph, when he had taken down Thy most pure body from the Tree, wrapped it in fine linen and anointed it with spices, and placed it in a new tomb.

When Thou didst descend to death, O Life Immortal, Thou didst slay hell with the splendour of Thy Godhead. The angel came to the myrrhbearing women at the tomb and said: Myrrh is fitting for the dead, but Christ has shown Himself a stranger to corruption! So proclaim: The Lord is risen, granting the world great mercy.
